Ever since we moved into this little house of ours I have wanted a second bathroom. Imagine my surprise, and delight, to come home one day and find this in my driveway.
It's a second bathroom! I'm not sure how much it's costing me, but now when we are outside doing yardwork we no longer need to dirty up the house with mucky boots if a quick trip to the loo is in order. Say we are enjoying the afternoon sunshine with a bottle of wine, we can just slip around the corner for a quick toilet break, no more running up and down the stairs. Comfort station, indeed!
This was cause to pull out the big guns. This was a day for a special bottle of wine that has been resting in the cellar, waiting for just the right moment. This was a day for Norman Hardie Pinot Noir.
Mmmmmm earthy, to mask the somewhat earthy aromas emanating from my driveway! Perfect. Cherry and fennel and minerals and mint are also all part of what's in this glass of wine; very aromatic. Light and pale, the vibrancy of the wine hasn't at all been compromised by a little time in my cellar. There's a smooth quality to the wine and it makes a lasting impression of peppered cherries on the palate.
Thank you Norman Hardie. You reminded me that the sweet things in life are just a corkscrew's reach away.
Congratulations, Holly! You really have arrived. It will all be well worth it when the sparkling new addition is in order. Fantastic post - again!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate! I can't wait to do some cooking in it with you!
